Job Summary
The Aircraft Structures Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, modification, and fabrication of aircraft structural components, including fuselage, wings, control surfaces, and structural assemblies. The role ensures all work is performed in accordance with approved repair schemes, structural repair manuals (SRM), and regulatory requirements to maintain aircraft airworthiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural repairs, including sheet metal work, riveting, bonding, and composite repairs.
- Inspect aircraft structures for corrosion, cracks, deformation, and other damage.
- Fabricate structural parts and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and approved data.
- Carry out structural modifications and repairs following SRM and engineering orders.
- Use specialized tools such as rivet guns, sheet metal equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Perform corrosion removal, surface preparation, and apply protective treatments.
- Install structural fasteners and repair structural assemblies.
- Ensure all structural work meets airworthiness and regulatory standards.
- Accurately document repairs and modifications in maintenance records.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma in Aircraft Structures, Aerospace Manufacturing, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft structural repair.
- Hands-on experience with aluminum structures and composite materials.
